Window Tinting in Vehicles
Window Tinting refers to changing the color of the window (darkening) by pasting a thin plastic film or a sheet made out of some kind of water resistant, translucent material. Window Tinting is very common in cars, vehicles on the road. The owners of the vehicles get their windows tinted due to some obvious reasons. According to a survey conducted, majority of the people get their Cars tinted for additional privacy, or for blocking excessive sunlight and heat (mostly found in Asian Countries.)However, there are some disadvantages of getting the window tinted. It becomes very difficult to look at objects outside the window at night, (hindrance of visibility is a very common cause of accidents at night.) Window tinting is also a problem for police officers, who are not able to see inside the car.
Therefore, to prevent such occurrences, some States have laws relating to the darkness of the films, which can be pasted on the glasses in the windows of the vehicles. The Department of Transportation in the United States, requires, at least seventy percent of external light to be transmitted. Hence, the sides of the car or the windshield should not have a dark film (unless you want to pay a fine.)
Installation and pasting of the films is job, which requires experience. An amateur, may leave bubbles while applying the film. These bubbles are impossible to remove, the only way to remove such bubbles is to peel off the sheet, however the sheet will lose the original stickiness and the life of the film reduces drastically. In addition, when purchasing a film, it should be kept in mind, that a good quality film is selected. The low quality films tend to peel off in patches very easily, giving the glass a very ugly look. If the remaining patches are forcefully removed, it may also leave scratches on the glass.
